Cyprus Avenue
Cyprus Avenue, a venue which spills out onto the Newtownards Road with a fully covered heated terrace, has a seasonal menu showcasing local suppliers, and dishes can be altered to meet the guestsā dietary needs, with many vegan and vegetarian options available.
We started lunch with a glass of fizz and a bread selection served with hop butter and tapenade, followed by one of our favourite plant based dishes, CAās Hoisin Mushroom & Pulled Oat Pancakes.
We are also big fans of the crispy Southern Fried Squid with charred corn relish, and the Salmon Panna Cotta with candied walnuts: two amazing seafood dishes.
Another excellent small plate is the meat free dish of Butternut Squash and Vegan Cheese Spring Rolls, and we were delighted to receive a surprise dish of creamy, nutty, Artichoke and Cauliflower Bake-perfect as a sharing side, or veggie main
Cyprus Avenue makes an ideal destination for enjoying top notch food and drink along with a spot of people watching!

Duad X Jumon
Due to popular demand, the brilliant Jumon X Duad pop up on the Belmont Road has been extended until 13 November.
This latest culinary collaboration at one of our favourite East Belfast eateries is the perfect match; Duad with its cool, contemporary vibe, excellent wines, cocktails and vinyl grooves, and the incredible meat-free Asian fusion dishes for which Jumon has become renowned.
We ordered some drinks: āInfanteā with tequila, orange blossom & almond, and a bourbon based āPeach Better Have My Moneyā, with a few āSmallsā to share-a phenomenal Turnip and Doenjang Dip with chilli oil, stir fry greens, furikake, sesame and popadoms, and delicious Jiaozi dumplings with carrot, chinese leaf & mushroom, served with kimchi & jade mayo.
To follow, Chaat Me Up-chaat masala, red onion, chilli, yogurt, tamarind reduction & coriander chutney, and a āBigā of stunning Mandu Tacos: yunnan eggplant, asian green, mushroom, avocado, salsa verde, truffle, & furikake.
To finish, a decadent Dark Moon chocolate mousse on miso brownie & raspberry.
The pop up is running until 13 November, Monday & Thursday-Saturday from 1700, and Saturday lunch.

Bakari
Bakari, a family-run artisan bakery in Donegal Street, is inspired by Scandinavian baking traditions, using organic ingredients where possible to create a fully fermented, nutritious, natural, flavoursome product.
We called in to the Cathedral Quarter shop to buy a few baked goodies, and we were highly impressed with the mouthwatering range of freshly baked sourdough breads, sweet and savoury pastries and fresh sandwiches on display. Try the incredible vanilla slice, and the toasty seeded dark sourdough. You wonāt regret it!
Stocked and served in many of our favourite delis and restaurants, Bakari products are widely available across Belfast and beyond.

About Bakari
We are a family-run artisan bakery in Belfast, Northern Ireland.Ā
Inspired by Scandinavian baking traditions, we strive to bring the people of Belfast delicious baked goods using local, organic ingredients where possible and imported organic where necessary.
Making a positive impact through food has always seemed like a no-brainer to us. If you can offer someone a loaf of bread made with organic grains, grown in Ireland, that has a long fermentation which makes it good for your guts and fully nutritious, and do that at an affordable price then what’s not to like.
Bakarà was founded in the summer of 2022. We started selling our products wholesale to shops and cafés from our industrial unit in Bangor and in December 2023 we opened the shop on 25 Donegall St.
