Haslem Hotel Stay – August 2025

Haslem Hotel

The Haslem Hotel, a gorgeous boutique hotel right in the heart of Lisburn, is the perfect base from which to explore the city, enjoy some retail therapy, or to simply relax in one of the stylish rooms, or self-catering apartments, and perhaps make use of the residents’ gym. And be sure to sample some of the Haslem’s delicious food and drink options.

The Hotel

The hotel, situated on Lisburn Square, is in a prime location, making it ideal for both business or pleasure. Belfast City Airport is only about 14 miles away and the International Airport about 16 miles away, making the Haslem a convenient and central hub for your travels.

The hotel boasts a great bar area, brilliant for post-work drinks or weekend celebrations. There’s an  extensive list of gin serves, cocktail favourites, craft beers and wines from around the world, with musical entertainment every Friday and Saturday night, and the Haslem Kitchen serves brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. There’s also a new Dine Early Menu, available Monday to Friday 5-7pm.

The Room

Our room in the Haslem Hotel had a cool, modern vibe in keeping with the contemporary design of the hotel. Pastel greens, and stylish wooden highlights and panelling created a Scandinavian feel. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and there was a lovely little sitting area in an alcove to enjoy a glass of fizz.

The artwork by local artist Leo Boyd was delightfully quirky, and we loved the retro Marshall Bluetooth speaker, and the luxurious Field Day bathroom products. In fact, every detail had been carefully considered in the  design of the room in order to ensure the perfect stay.

The rooms come in three main sizes: Snug, Comfy, and Roomy, and there are also self-catering apartments available to make the perfect home away from home.

Our Evening Meal

The Haslem Kitchen offers plenty of choice when it comes to breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.

We enjoyed a terrific evening meal, and we were very impressed by the variety of dishes on the menu, championing fresh local ingredients from the best producers in the country.

The Lobby is a relaxed, informal space, and we chilled at the bar with a couple of classic cocktails, a Kirker Whiskey Sour, and a Banana Mojito made with our favourite Kadoo Banana Rum, before taking our seat in the stunning restaurant.

With its tan leather seating, bottle green fabric, monochromatic tiled floors, and wooden panels reflecting the mood of the bedroom decor, the interior had a distinctly sophisticated metropolitan vibe.

We started with a Duo of Hummus; generous smears of caramelised red onion & beetroot, and roast garlic & green pepper hummus served with homemade focaccia, and a dish of Chilli & Lime Mini Fish Cakes filled with salmon, haddock and prawn accompanied by salad and a zingy lime mayonnaise.

To follow, the Pan Fried Seabass was perfectly crispy-skinned, and served with a chilli and tomato bean cassoulet, tenderstem broccoli and samphire. And the Supreme of Chicken was beautifully presented on a bed of wild mushroom risotto.

Desserts were also excellent; a light airy Pavlova with lots of cream, summer berries, and a satisfying crunch, and an indulgent Sticky Toffee Pudding with hints of warm spice, and a scoop of salted caramel ice cream.

The Haslem Kitchen serves delicious food in an atmosphere of cool sophistication and offers friendly, attentive service: a thoroughly delightful dining experience.

There’s also a great value “Dine Early” deal with two courses for £24 and three courses for £29 which is available Monday-Friday from 17:00-19:00.

The Breakfast

Breakfast in The Haslem is served in the gorgeous Haslem Kitchen restaurant. With a choice of items from the continental buffet including fresh juices, patisserie, fruit and yoghurt, cheese & charcuterie, and delicious a la carte options, this is a brilliant breakfast perfect for setting you up for a day exploring the city.

From the menu we ordered Wild Mushrooms on sourdough, with salsa verde and a balsamic glaze, topped with runny poached eggs, and the Cinnamon French Toast with fresh berries, maple syrup, and wonderfully crispy bacon-exactly as requested!
