This brilliant independent wine shop and deli is based in Brixham, a seaside town near Torquay. With over 400 wines and a wide selection of Spanish and Portuguese deli foods, this is the perfect venue for a relaxed afternoon sipping excellent wines from various countries and nibbling authentic tapas dishes.
The Wine Loft also serves wines by the glass, and on Sunday, informal Wine Tasting sessions are available.
We enjoyed a South African Shiraz, and “Circumstance” Sauvignon Blanc; both delicious varieties and excellent value. We were also challenged to guess the “Mystery Glass”; James’ phenomenal knowledge of wine is second to none!
And as for the food, our selection of Tapas included Jose Gourmet fish & venison pâtés, European cheeses with ship’s biscuits, Boquerones, Padron Peppers, and a wonderful Heritage Tomato and Pico Blue cheese salad; we honestly could have been in some Spanish Vinoteca, had the dark rain clouds not been so persistent!
An amazing find. Hunt this place out the next time you’re in the area.
