s midwinter holds us firmly in its frosty grasp, Spanish Sunshine is never too far away at 2Taps Winebar. With its delicious Mediterranean inspired dishes, fabulous heated outdoor terrace and a brand new menu, 2Taps is the perfect escape from the January blues.
We were delighted to have been invited to try the new Tapas menu, which is a triumph; delicious small plates, authentically Spanish in style with a contemporary twist.Ā
We started with a glass of fizz and some gorgeous toasted Bakari breads with tapenade, olive oil & balsamic vinegar.
The seafood choices are superb; Grilled Scallops with Apple, Shellfish Bisque, Turnip & Nettle, a crispy Chargrilled Seabass on Lobster Bisque Hollandaise with Crayfish & Celeriac, and an incredible Chargrilled Octopus with Chilli and Lime Romesco.
There are some great meat-free choices too. The Chargrilled Corn with Vegan Nduja was a spicy delight, and the Chargrilled Romaine Lettuce with Fennel, and the ubiquitous Padron Peppers with Smoked Sea Salt & Lime (no self-respecting Tapas menu would be complete without them) were perfect accompaniments.
To finish, the creamy Pistachio, Honey, Fig, Feuille de Brick & Orange was a Mediterranean delight, and the rather excellent European Cheese Selection, with cheeses from Spain to Scandinavia, & a tangy Pineapple Napalm Salsa from the brilliant Bangor-based Habanero Steveās, was a great dessert alternative.
And it would be criminal not to have a jug of 2 Tapsā infamous Sangria to wash it all down with! Salud!!Ā

The Sunday Set Menu at Graze, a cosy, bistro-style venue in Ballyhackamore, reflects the restaurantās passion for fresh, locally sourced, flavourful food, with a variety of choices to suit all tastes.Ā
We started our meal with a Graze favourite: Ryan Taggartās Sizzling Hand Shelled Prawns, in garlic & chilli with artisan sourdough. We also enjoyed the Mushroom Risotto with sourdough crisps, aged parmesan & truffle, and the Onion Soup with warm sourdough & mushroom & truffle butter.
To follow, we had the Chargrilled Dexter Steak Burgers with tomato chutney, salad, Hegarty’s cheddar & beef dripping chips, a creamy Seafood Tagliatelle with cod, smoked haddock, Glenarm salmon, Portavogie prawns, white wine sauce, aged parmesan & toast, and a delicious Pale Smoked Haddock with Coolattin Cheddar Crust, colcannon potato cake, wild mushroom & a white wine & truffle cream.
To finish we loved the White Chocolate Parfait with honeycomb, rhubarb & a passion fruit sorbet, and itās never too late to feel a little festive with a rich & fruity Steamed Xmas Pudding with Brandy Custard and Chantilly Cream.
Grazeās Sunday Set Menu is great value at 2 courses for Ā£24 or 3 courses for Ā£28.Ā
