The fantastic CiarĆ”n McLarnon, otherwise known as Hundredth Monkey Bakery, has recently launched āThe Focacceriaā, upstairs in HouseProud home furnishings on the Boucher Road.
This brilliant spot serves up breakfasts, Italian-inspired sandwiches, burgers, gyros, and lunch specials.

We had an incredibly tasty Kimchi Burger, on a house Japanese milk bun with a kimchi patty, cos lettuce, burger cheese & mayo. Thereās also another meat-free Fennel & Celeriac Burger, and of course, traditional Fried Chicken Sandwiches.
The Gyros are amazing; sourdough flatbread with cos, red onion, garlic, citrus and basil dressing with diced bavette steak, chicken fillet, or grilled halloumi.
And donāt miss out on the delicious garlic butter fries; potatoes baked, then cut into wedges, dried and chilled before cooking, resulting in extra crunchy, skin-on chips which are then smothered in garlic butter. Irresistible!
The Focacceria is open Wed-Sat 09:30-15:00 and Sun 13:00-17:00. Watch out for special evening events, where youāll get the opportunity to sample CiarĆ”nās superb Roman-style pizza!

Having recently opened its doors on University Road in Belfast, Millarās Brasserie is another brilliant addition to the Queenās Quarterās food scene, and it was the perfect spot to enjoy a celebratory birthday meal with friends.

With its dramatically dark interior and statement artwork, Millarās has created a sophisticated space in which to enjoy its delicious dishes.
We started with Prawn & Smoked Salmon Cocktail smothered in Marie Rose sauce with perfectly Soft Boiled Eggs, creamy Goatās Cheese with Beetroot, Liquorice & Sorrel Salad, beautifully fresh Tuna Tataki with Pickled Daikon, Carrot & Wasabi Mayo, and Millarās Bread Selection with Tapenade.
To follow, we loved the crispy-skinned Pan Fried Salmon in a Herb Beurre Blanc with Salt Cod Beignets, Hazelnuts, Salsify, and Fennel, and the Tuna Steak, which was cooked perfectly pink to order, drizzled with Hoisin Sauce, and accompanied by Honey Roast Root Vegetables and Chilli & Garlic Broccoli.
Thereās also a great value Sunday Set Menu, with two courses for Ā£28 or three for Ā£34, and the Slow Cooked Beef Brisket with Mash, Duck Fat Roasties, and Seasonal Veg was topped with an enormous Yorkshire Pudding and lashings of Red Wine Gravy.
And for dessert, the Spiced Apple Tacos with Calvados Mousse and White Chocolate Diplomat was a light, refreshing way to finish an excellent meal.

We love the Blas na hĆireann award-winning Mop Sauce, perfect as a marinade for pulled pork, prawns or veggies, & the Screaming Banshee Hot Sauce which combines the heat of ghost chillies with caramelised ginger.Ā
