Frost-twinkling family spectacular to premiere 26 November and run to New Year’s Day
The Metropolitan Arts Centre (MAC) is set to transform into a winter wonderland this Christmas with the premiere of Jack Frost, a snow-swirling, frost-twinkling adventure that promises to captivate families and create unforgettable festive memories for everyone. Running from 26 November 2025 through 1 January 2026, this breathtaking new production complete with a local cast brings together adventure, laughter, and that little bit of Christmas magic in one spectacular show.
When the legendary Frozen Bell, which rings just once a year on the Winter Solstice, tolls more than once, it signals a dire warning: winter’s magic is in danger – Jack Frost needs to save the day, and the world! Step forward the mischievous and brave Jack Frost, played by Conor Quinn, who must embark on an epic quest. Jack is joined by his extraordinary friends: his loyal guardian Saint Nicholas (Sean Kearns), Jon Snow (Darren Franklin) the talking snowman, Hoot the wise owl (Mark Dugdale), and Neve (Eimear Fearon) the snow angel.
Together, they face formidable enemies including the fearsome Krampus (Jack Watson), a creature of nightmares, and an icy sorceress determined to trap the world in endless frost and Cailleach (Roise Barry) the hag who brings the Winter.
As snowstorms swirl and magic crackles through the theatre, audiences will see first-hand Jack and his friends use their collective powers of courage, cleverness, and heart to save winter itself, discovering the true power of love and hope along the way.
