44 Hill Street, Belfast

44 Hill Street

One of our favourite Cathedral Quarter eateries, 44 Hill Street, celebrates local products and independent producers through a modern menu influenced by the flavours of France and the Mediterranean.

The welcome is always warm, and the seasonal menu has great choices for a light lunch or an evening meal.

We called in recently and had some great tapas-style sharing starters; lightly smoked haddock croquettes, crispy halloumi with sriracha mayo, and curried calamari fritters.

To follow, the garlic mussels swimming in a creamy sauce with focaccia to soak up the delicious juices, and the  homemade gnocchi with Parmesan, petit pois, mushrooms and tarragon were both excellent dishes.

And the dessert special of pear tart with ice cream had the crispest, shortest pastry we’d tasted in ages.

Merci beaucoup, 44 Hill Street!
