A city garden and café in McClintock Street, Panama is a little oasis in Belfast’s bustling Linen Quarter.
With a great new brunch menu, featuring lots of Latin American-style dishes, most of which can be adapted for vegan & vegetarian diets, Panama has something for everyone.
Both the veggie versions of the Huevos Con Chorizo, with its spicy hit of pico de gallo, and the Panamanian Style Ropa Vieja with black beans and rice were great meat-free choices.
Panama is also available for private functions.

Academy Restaurant
The Academy Restaurant at the Ulster University is staging a “Culinary Salon”: a series of dinners hosted by some of the UK & Ireland’s most admired chefs & food writers. This creative initiative, developing the future leaders of hospitality, resulted in an evening with renowned chef, disruptor & author, Conor Spacey who demonstrated how often discarded ingredients can be turned into fabulous, flavoursome dishes.
From Salt Baked Beetroot to Charred Gem Lettuce with toasted crumbs, Roast Celeriac to Shaved Kohlrabi Salad, & a Black Bean & Used Coffee Brownie, this wonderful tasting menu was a celebration of the diversity, sustainability & upcoming culinary talent that characterises our contemporary hospitality scene.
