Bolt Deli

Just off the Boucher Road, Bolt Deli is a New York-Style Café and Restaurant. The distinctive Stateside vibe, with its exposed brickwork, copper highlights, and nods to Manhattan and Little Italy, is reflected in the extensive menu.

We were spoilt for choice with so many tempting dishes on offer; from All Day Breakfasts, Bagels, Salads, Deli Style Wraps & Sandwiches, Burgers, Loaded Fries, and so much more, all championing local producers and suppliers.

We had one of Bolt Deli’s customer favourites-the incredibly popular Nik-Nak Chicken Burger. And it’s not hard to see why; a salt & chilli buttermilk chicken fillet, smothered in harissa mayo, chilli honey, gouda cheese melt, and napa slaw, with extra crispy bacon and a prawn cracker for extra crunch! Served with parmesan & garlic fries and a curry dip, this was a fabulous lunchtime feast.

There are lighter dishes on the menu too. For those looking for a meat-free option, the ā€œLight & Veggieā€ really hits the spot; toasted sourdough spread with beetroot hummus, a honey drizzle and sesame seeds, topped with beetroot, poached eggs, and either tangy goats cheese, or grilled halloumi. Accompanied by a bowl of Loaded Fries with cheese and peppered sauce, this was all terrifically tasty.

Many thanks to Keith and the team for the invitation to try Bolt Deli: the perfect spot to meet, relax and enjoy delicious New York Deli-Style cuisine .

Our favourite ā€œchatte culinaireā€ Marcel has just delivered a gorgeous little petit chaton, ā€œBĆ©bĆ©ā€. Also on the Belmont Road, this fabulous French Bistro is the playful companion to Marcel, providing a chic, stylish dining experience.

We loved the traditional, classy interior, and the music, lighting, and tableware created a sophisticated vibe.

BĆ©bĆ© Cocktails are a must, and the Hanky Panky and Psycho Killer digestifs were excellent, as was the bottle of Alsace Pinot Gris.

As with Marcel, it would be criminal not to order some oozy, cheesy GougĆØres, and BĆ©bé’s are as delicious as you’d expect, as were the crispy Pommes Dauphine and the Escargots swimming in garlic & parsley butter.

To follow we had a huge bowl of creamy Moules Frites, a plate of Poulet Ć  la CrĆØme with mushrooms, tarragon and pommes purĆ©e, and a side dish of Fine Green Beans with Shallots. Magnifique!

How wonderful to have not just one, but two superb French Bistros on our doorstep. BƩbƩ? Quel fabuleux restaurant!
