Sunday at 2Taps Wine Bar in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter is always a wonderful way to spend a lazy afternoon, especially when accompanied by some great live music, with brilliant performers like the fabulous Erin & Joe, and the legendary Ken Haddock.
And 2 Taps’ “Singing Sundays” has recently introduced a Sunday Roast Sharing Platter-amazing value for just £45 for two people sharing, with the option of Dry-aged Sirloin, Roasted Chicken Breast, or a mixture of both, with buttery Mash, Seasoned Greens, Duck Fat Roasties, Hispi Cabbage, Honey Roasted Veg, Beef Dripping Gravy, and Yorkshire Pudding.
Of course, the full selection of Mediterranean inspired tapas dishes, traditionally Spanish in style, is also available, and we started with a gorgeous toasted Bakari Bread Board with Balsamic, Olive Oil, Tapenade, Olives, Sun Blushed Tomatoes & Pickled Fennel.
Some of the new tapas dishes on the menu included Smoked Coley with Mojo Rojo & Potato Crumb, and Scallops with Whipped Young Buck & Fil De Brick: absolutely superb seafood plates. Also, the Cauliflower with Jalapeño Tartare, and the Salt Baked Beetroot with Raita were excellent veggie dishes. And of course, no tapas meal would be complete without some sizzling Prawns Pil Pil, and Red Wine Chorizo!
To finish, 2Taps have a tempting Dessert menu-the Dark Chocolate Orange Basque Cheesecake was delicious, and the Greek God-themed February Cocktails were terrific; Athena, featuring Boatyard Gin, is a must for Dirty Martini fans, and Dionysus, with Copeland Rum, is a Sangria-topped, boozy take on a dark & stormy!
