Nicos Pizzeria Restaurant – A new fully licensed Italian Pizzeria has recently opened its doors on the Ormeau Rd, serving up Stone Baked Pizzas, Pasta Dishes, Small Plates, Salads, Desserts and more!
Sister restaurant to Nico’s on the Lisburn Rd, the menu features delicious dishes inspired by the region of Calabria, and the team at Nico’s is committed to delivering authentic Italian flavours.
We loved the cool neon interior, festooned with flora, with nods to southern Italy in the fresco-style murals.
There are some great wines, beers & cocktails available, including Nico’s own draft!
We always love a couple of small plates to share, and the crunchy Calamari with aioli, charred lime, & salad leaves, and the oozy Cheese Doughballs stuffed with jalapeños and a hot honey dip, were both excellent appetisers.
To follow, we couldn’t resist ordering one of Nico’s legendary pizzas, the Caprino, with goat’s cheese, caramelised onions, mushrooms, garlic, & olives: crispy-based, slightly charred & perfectly baked!
We also really enjoyed the Tagliatelle Pesto with chicken, sunblush tomatoes, rocket & chilli, and a sprinkle of Parmesan and a drizzle of chilli oil took this fabulous dish to another level. With a side of Parmesan Fries & garlic mayo, this was an absolute feast.
And, of course, we had to order some boozy Gelato Affogato al Caffè and refreshing Limoncello to finish!
There are also menus to cater for gluten-free and vegan diets too.
Nico’s Pizzeria Restaurant is at 114-116 Ormeau Road, Belfast.
