A great new Pizzeria & Cocktail Bar, Mumbo Jerrys, has recently opened its doors in Dundonald Omnipark. Run by the team behind Binkys and Blue Chicago Grill, this brand new venue serves up hand-crafted, light and crispy pizza, using the finest grade Neapolitan flour to create fresh dough daily, and Jerrys Red Sauce containing only the sweetest tomatoes.

There are plenty of tempting nibbles to enjoy whilst choosing from the extensive pizza menu, and we loved the Halloumi Bites with chilli jam, the Buff Salad with rocket, tomatoes, pesto, & buffalo mozzarella, and the incredible Mac ‘n’ Bac: delicious, traditional macaroni cheese with bacon bits.

But the stars of the show are the authentic pizzas cooked in a custom built Italian Stone Oven. We had the “G.O.A.T”; a pesto and smashed beetroot base with honeyed goats cheese, tenderstem broccoli, caramelised onion, & roasted pumpkin seeds, and the “La Di Da” with Jerrys Red Sauce, Fior de Latte, mushroom, rocket, prosciutto, parmesan, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Outstandingly good. These were accompanied by “Posh Fries” with parmesan & an earthy hit of truffle, and a fresh couscous, broccoli & beetroot salad.

The cocktail list features Mumbo Jerrys’ take on some traditional favourites. We enjoyed the Tiger Fizz, Bongo Bramble, & Marjorie Margarita. And make sure to leave some room for dessert-the Loaded Brownie is just that; a fudgy salted caramel brownie with crunchie pieces, ice cream, whipped cream, & toffee sauce.

With a banging 80s soundtrack and retro neon decor to match, this brand new Eastpoint addition is sure to hit the spot. Many thanks to Jamie & Monica for a terrific lunch.
