Cleaver Holywood

Cleaver Holywood – A menu to die for

What a spooktacular night of frighteningly fiendish food, and devilishly delightful drinks at Cleaver restaurant on Holywood’s High Street.

Renowned for its steak and seafood, Cleaver’s chef Chris created a Hallowe’en feast for the senses, with a terrifying ten course tasting menu featuring such demonic dishes as Insect Bread (featuring actual grubs!), Jumping Pumpkin Soup garnished with toasted crickets, Slither and Slime with Smoked Lough Neagh Eel and local oysters, a sharing platter entitled Little Eggs and Lots of Legs- fried Scorpions, anyone?

And the frightful feast continued with Sautéed Sweet Breads & Brown Ear Fungus, Squid Ink Sorbet, Frog in the Hole, Tongue in Cheek Pie, and Sweet Death and Magic Berries for a creepily confusing tastebud trick or treat!

With magic potions such as Beelzebub’s Bubbles or Pan’s Punch, a theatrically presented louche absinthe libation, and the guests and venue dressed to thrill, this was an event to die for.

Thanks to the team at Cleaver for an enchanting evening and a marvellously magical menu. Happy Hallowe’en!
