Portrush’s intimate, boutique hotel Elephant Rock epitomises luxury, glamour and fun. With its quirky interior design, and incredible sea views, the hotel is the perfect venue to spoil yourself with an elegant and sophisticated getaway.
We called in to try the summer Lunch Menu. The team in the restaurant provides a dining experience which champions fresh, seasonal ingredients, and showcases local produce through its contemporary menu.
The dining room decor is a delight; blue & green velvet chairs, striking monochromatic marble tables, and art pieces including a gorgeous oil painting of the stunning Elephant Rock landmark.
To start, we couldn’t resist a “tipple or two” from the rather excellent cocktail list. “The Skerries” (which we could see, incidentally, from our wonderful bay window table) was a dark rum and pineapple delight, and the “Breakfast Martini” uses local Balsalt Gin and marmalade to create a tangy, citrus treat!
We chose the Frankie Bombay Burrito, stuffed with cauliflower, potato, chickpea, pickled red onion, spinach, & mint chutney served with skin-on fries & a mini salad, and the Fish Pie crammed with cod, petit pois, capers & diced tomato in a creamy lemon sauce, topped with mash. The side dishes of House Salad and Gochujang Sesame Broccoli were also top notch.
To finish, the Date & Orange Pudding with butterscotch and honeycomb was an indulgent treat, accompanied by a couple of nostalgic Sweet Shop cocktails, a “Black Jack” and a “Not Supposed To Chewit” to transport us back to childhood favourites with a grown up twist.
There’s also an upstairs cocktail lounge to enjoy a few Elephant Rock signature drinks in elegant surroundings.
The Lunch Specials are terrific value at £12.50, and are currently available Monday to Friday, 12:00-16:00.

Bluezy Brunch back by popular demand Sunday August 25th
We had such a blast hosting the first Bluezy Brunch event in July that we are bringing it back for August. This will be held on the bank holiday Sunday – 35th August. Make sure to make the most of the final bank holiday of the summer with this fun-filled morning.
Arrive at 11.30AM to a welcome breakfast cocktail/mocktail before ordering from our brunch menu. We will have Ulster frys, french toast, avocado Smash and more. Enjoy some of our potato and soda bread that is a special recipe from Paula McIntyre.
Finish it off with something sweet from our assiette of desserts and enjoy live jazz and blues music from the Katalizt Quartet.
We will be running our 2 for £16 happy hour cocktails all morning once again.
We will have more live music from Yasmin in Vi’s Terrace Bar from 2.30 PM for those wanting to continue into the afternoon.
