It was brilliant to see one of our favourite Belfast city centre restaurants open a sister venue in CS Lewis Square off the Newtownards Rd. With its excellent service, colourful decor, and sensational, Asian inspired, meat-free food, Jumon East is another East Belfast dining gem.
The menu is divided into two sections, “Smalls” & “Bigs”, and there’s a special “January Sale” meal deal with 2 courses for £23.

We ordered a couple of smalls to start; the amazing KFB- Korean Fried Broccoli with kimchi, pickled ginger, and miso mayo, and the vibrant green Jiaozi vegetable dumplings, with kimchi, and jade mayo.
These dishes were followed by Hungley- a malayoo peanut curry with ramen noodle, lentils, asian greens, mushrooms and pickled pineapple, and Malacca Laksa- a laksa curry with rice noodle, crispy tofu, courgettes, aubergines, and shallots.
Jumon adheres to the mantra “the secret to abundance is sharing” and it was an absolute pleasure to share healthy vegan food as flavoursome as this.
