Millars Brasserie Review – Sep 2025

Millars Brasserie

Millars Brasserie, a brilliant restaurant on University Road in the Queen’s Quarter in Belfast, was the perfect spot to enjoy a celebratory birthday meal with friends.

There’s a great value Sunday Set Menu, with two courses for £26 or three for £32.

We started with Moules Mariniere in a delicious garlic cream sauce served with crusty bread, Millar’s Bread Selection with dipping oil, butter, & tapenade, and tangy Goats’ Cheese with a refreshing apple & endive salad sprinkled with walnuts.

To follow, the Oven Baked Coley was perfectly cooked, and fragrant with tarragon, served with leeks on a potato rosti, and there’s a terrific Vegan “Scampi”; a slight nod to Asian tempura-style dishes with its nori-wrapped tofu, accompanied by a vegan tartare sauce, mushy peas, and triple cooked chips.

And for dessert, the Panna Cotta, with strawberry & Champagne gel and crumbly shortbread, was a light, refreshing way to finish an excellent meal.

With its dramatically dark interior and quirky artwork, attentive service, and great menu choices for all tastes, Millar’s has created a sophisticated space in which to enjoy delicious food and drink.
