Serving the finest local ingredients, Roam is a terrific restaurant in Belfast’s City Centre. The beautifully presented and delicious dishes comprise a menu which changes with the seasons, and we were really looking forward to a return visit.

We started our lunch with some moist Stout & Treacle Bread with Smoked Sea Salt Butter. We couldn’t wait to try the Smoked Eel Kimchi Tartlets again-small, dainty, but bursting with flavour, and we also enjoyed the Prawns with Tomato, Red Pepper & Sourdough.

To follow, the Sea Trout with Broccoli, Kale, Parsley & Miso, and the Seasonal Veg Pithivier with Roast Carrot & Thyme Gravy were both prettily plated and featured a variety of tastes and textures, served with sides of buttery Crushed Baby Potatoes, Organic Veg, & Hand Cut Chips. We also had a perfectly pink Flat Iron Steak with Grilled Greens, Miso Onion & a Beef Sauce.

Do make sure to leave room for Dessert; the Raisin and Date Pudding with Apple Caramel & Rum Ice Cream, and the Chocolate Cremeux with Hazelnut, Orange & Caramelised Milk Ice Cream were both sweet sensations!

Roam: attentive but informal, simple but sophisticated. It was a pleasure to be back.
