From Burgers & Wraps to Salads & Grills, Brunch Favourites, to Drinks & Sweet Treats, Slim’s on the Belmont Rd has something for everyone. For us, the Bowls are the perfect lunchtime choice, light yet satisfying with lots of tasty styles, toppings and sauces. The Jerk Bowl is smothered in a delicious BBQ sauce with avocado, corn, pineapple salsa & sticky rice.  We went for the vegan option, & also enjoyed the Tofu Teriyaki Bowl, fragrant with sesame and ginger. The Chicken Katsu Bowl is a Japanese style curry, bursting with Asian spice.

Gnostic – Greek Taster Night

A delicious, Mediterranean 6 Course tasting menu of Greek inspired dishes accompanied by perfectly paired wines, this was a relaxed yet sophisticated evening. Our first course was Crispy Whitebait with Pitta & Taramasalata, followed by Tomato Fritters with Olives, Feta & Rocket. Then an absolute classic: Dolmades with sour cream. Although every course was faultless, our favourite was the crispy skinned Mackerel on a creamy bed of Orzo-stunning! We then had the saucy, Roasted Tomato & Aubergine Kleftiko, which was satisfying & flavourful. Finally dessert; Bougatsa- a filo pastry delight stuffed with set vanilla custard. Watch out for the next Thursday Night Taster theme, “Gnostalgia”, which reimagines fond childhood foodie memories.

Hey Chick !

To launch its incredible new Nashville Hot Chicken Burger, Hey Chick! on Botanic Avenue hosted a Nashville Supper Club, introducing “Belfast’s Hottest Chicken Burger”; a crunchy-coated burger, sizzlingly spicy with a selection of sides, and for veggies, a phenomenally good mushroom version which, in our opinion, is the best meat-free alternative burger in town.
